"A Bedtime Story"

There's a magical place

that's far away

but also very near.

There are golden frogs

and talking dogs

and who knows what else there.

You could sail a boat

across the sea

and never find this land,

but a flying fish

could make a wish

and help you understand.

You could ride a horse

but of course

he won't know where to go

to find the spot

where such a lot

of special things can grow.

You could put on wings

and fly up high

on a sunny day

but you won't see all

you want to see

from so far away.

You could take a bus

and ride for days

but never reach the stop

where unicorns

and cats with horns

chase a spinning top.

You could drive a car

very fast

and miss it on the way

the special place

where fairies dance and

elves and goblins play.

The only way

to find this place

where anything can be

is to close your eyes

and fall asleep and reach

the land of dreams.
